Wyndham House has two supportive housing sites: the Bellevue and Suffolk residences. These programs provide a safe and welcoming space to Call Home; which is essential on clients’ path towards stability.
These sites are both two 8-bed residences that are staffed 24/7, 365 days a year. All youth receive practical support, guidance, nutritious meals, mental health and wellness supports, learn life skills and engage in recreational activities.
The Waterloo Project, located at 107/109 Waterloo Avenue, Guelph, Ontario, is a new housing initiative by Wyndham House that combines a lodging house and a legal triplex dwelling into a supportive housing model for eight youth and provides three affordable rental apartments. This latest project is a solution to reduce youth homelessness in Guelph-Wellington significantly. By acquiring a new building and carrying out future expansions and renovations, we aim to provide an innovative and much-needed supportive housing model for eleven transitionally aged youth with a place to call home. Renovations are set to begin in March 2025 and are expected to be completed by December 2025.
The Waterloo Project is dedicated to helping young individuals achieve stability and independence. It goes beyond providing housing by offering comprehensive support to address the various challenges of transitioning from homelessness to independent living. This support includes access to mental health services, education support, life skills training, and community-building activities, ensuring every resident has the necessary resources and support to succeed.
