The History of Wyndham House
Wyndham House has been working to address youth homelessness in Guelph for over 50 years. Over the past several years, the agency has observed that youth in our community who are struggling with mental health and substance use concerns are more likely to become homeless, and that it is more difficult for them to find appropriate housing. We also observed disproportionate barriers to accessing mental health care for youth with concurrent needs, homelessness and equity-deserving populations. With these factors in mind, Wyndham House has broadened its vision and efforts to focus on providing wrap-around care that will address the holistic needs of youth. This work is conducted through providing shelter and long-term housing, outreach support, and health and education programming.
